National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Visit

On Thursday September 26th Pennovation Works, PCI, and PCI Ventures were pleased to host the National Cancer Institute’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs for both a presentation and office hours at The Pennovation Center.

University of Pennsylvania ranks among top global schools for producing undergraduate, graduate and MBA founders

According to new data from PitchBook, the University of Pennsylvania has ranked among the top schools in the world for producing future founders.

Out of those founders, the university has produced 596 female founders who have raised a combined $12.2 billion.

Racing to the Future

Penn Engineering and Pennovation Center member, The Autoware Foundation, were featured in an article showcasing their F1TENTH project, a competition where students are graded on the design, assembly, and programming of self-driving cars that compete against each other in races. Goeppert Awarded SBIR Grant

Congratulations to Goeppert LLC, for being an SBIR Phase I NASA awardee!

Their proposal, nanocomposites for multi-analyte detection and plant health monitoring, will enable smart agricultural and vertical farming which significantly reduces transportation costs of vegetables into ISS and future lunar habitats.

On February 1st, Pennovation Works hosted Launchpad students and faculty for a tour of the ecosystem, a Q&A session, and demonstrations from a robotics company and the Polyhedral Structures Lab, a University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design research unit.
