Pennovation alum Andrei Georgescu is the Co-Founder and CEO of Vivodyne, a biotechnology company accelerating drug discovery by testing treatments on lab-grown 3D human tissues.

Andrei co-founded Vivodyne in 2020 after recognizing the limitations of animal testing in predicting human outcomes. He brings deep expertise in tissue engineering, robotics, and AI, with prior work that includes sending lab-grown tissues into space with NASA and developing DNA synthesis chips.

The Entrepreneurial Empowerment (EE) Series, co-hosted by PCI Ventures, PCI, The Mack Institute for Innovation Management, and Pennovation Works, was held monthly at the Pennovation Center from September 2024 through April 2025.

Polyhedral Structures Laboratory is displaying their 3D-printed, post-tensioned concrete canopy titled Diamanti at the European Cultural Centre’s 2024 biennial exhibition, ‘Personal Structures’, in Venice, Italy, at the Giardini della Marinaressa.  

The 3-meter-scale Diamanti model demonstrates the design and fabrication of a combined compression and tension funicular canopy with periodic anticlastic, diamond surfaces.

Pennovation Works partnered with Philly AI Connect, a community dedicated to advancing AI and ML technology and its sophistication of use in and beyond the city of Philadelphia, and the Future of Higher Ed, a global community for founders and practitioners focused on the future of postsecondary education & training, to host "AI + The Future of Education" at Pennovation Center.

We are excited to announce the 2025 Pennovation Accelerator Cohort! The program's eighth summer kicked off on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Pennovation Center with the launch of the first event.

The Pennovation Accelerator cohort companies represent a variety of industries ranging from MedTech, financial management platforms, AI, robotics, and more. 

The 15th annual Philly Tech Week, held May 5-10, 2025, created a founder-first experience that spoke directly to innovators and changemakers from across the Philadelphia region. 

Over 3500 attendees flocked to 50+ events that showcased programming that addressed digital equity, workforce inclusion, and the tech-driven future of Philadelphia's economy. 

Take Our Children to Work Day 2025 brought together ninety-five children and parents on April 24th for 'Building Hope: A Day of Discovery,' a day filled with exciting demonstrations from Pennovation Works companies.

We are excited to announce the 2025 Pennovation Accelerator!

The Pennovation Accelerator invites a cohort of local startups to engage in a six-week program to develop their business strategy and cultivate their network. Cohort companies will participate in weekly educational sessions presented by subject matter experts. Each company is paired with an experienced mentor to advise them on their journey. In addition, curated networking opportunities help the companies make connections into the larger Philadelphia entrepreneurial community.
