Benjamin’s Desk, the operator of the Pennovation Center since its opening in 2016, has now unveiled a unified brand as ‘the new’ 1776, following their exciting merger announced last year with this global innovation network. 1776 is bringing much more than a new company name to the Pennovation community. With access to 1776's entire global network, Pennovation Center members now have even more resources to help build and scale their companies.

BioBots is now Allevi, and we’ve got lots to tell you about.
When we founded the company in 2014, our mission was to make it easy to design and engineer biology. Bioprinters on the market were expensive, inaccessible, and difficult to use. We created our beta device to tackle these problems and were humbled by its adoption within the community. Three years later, we believe in our mission even more strongly, as we’ve grown to serve hundreds of labs in all corners of the world.

The University of Pennsylvania (Penn) and Comcast today announced Viewpoint, a multidisciplinary team of Penn students from the Master of Integrated Product Design program and the School of Design's Historic Preservation department, as the inaugural winner of the Comcast-Pennovation Challenge.
