Drone light show by Verge Aero honors frontline
On the evening of April 28, Verge Aero, a leader in high performance drone light shows, delivered an aerial tribute at the University of Pennsylvania campus, not far from the company’s offices at Pennovation Works. As part of the local #PhillyShinesBlue campaign and the global #LightItBlue campaign, the display was created to honor and show appreciation for healthcare professionals and first responders on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Management [event recap]
On April 15th, Penn Medicine’s Penn Program for Mindfulness facilitated a virtual workshop for the Pennovation community on Mindfulness-Based Stress Management. Mara Wai, MEd, Associate Director of the Penn Program for Mindfulness, provided an overview of how mindfulness works and introduced the group to some introductory techniques and exercises.
InstaHub, Cocoa Press team up to 3D print PPE
A team of social entrepreneurs, Penn alumni, and other community members are working together with their combined expertise, equipment, and time on a new initiative, called Project SHIELDS, to support and save lives. This is the kind of innovative collaboration promoting the common good among private entrepreneurs and inventors that Penn envisioned when it created the Pennovation Center.
