Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Management [event recap]

On April 15th, Penn Medicine’s Penn Program for Mindfulness facilitated a virtual workshop for the Pennovation community on Mindfulness-Based Stress Management. Mara Wai, MEd, Associate Director of the Penn Program for Mindfulness, provided an overview of how mindfulness works and introduced the group to some introductory techniques and exercises. The exercises focused on noticing the present without judgement and bringing awareness to how one’s mind & body reacts to an event. The discussion continued with how to apply these techniques to manage personal and professional challenges and enhance well‐being.
