It’s been an exciting year for the Pennovation Center, which kicked off its grand opening in October 2016.

Since the Pennovation Center’s founding in 2016, one of the many visions of its purpose has been to serve as a stepping stone for Philadelphia startups. 

Don’t call it BioBots anymore: Allevi is the new name of the Pennovation-based startup, makers of a 3D printer for live tissue, that is now making a play for the software space in addition to its hardware offering.

In September 2016, the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) officially opened The Pennovation Center, a 58,000 square-foot facility that allows researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to plant and grow a business.
