Penn Center for Innovation & Penn Engineering Speaker Series: Pennovation Works for Engineers [event recap]

During the weeklong celebration of Pennovation’s fifth year anniversary, Penn Center for Innovation in partnership with Penn Engineering hosted a virtual speaker series featuring the Managing Director of Pennovation Works, Anish Kumar. Anish talked about resources available to startups and researchers at Penn and the wider Philadelphia entrepreneurial community. He highlighted the broad community of 70 companies located at Pennovation Works.

The Power of Pennovation Works: Research and Development [event recap]

On November 11th, in recognition of the 5th year anniversary of Pennovation Works we hosted The Power of Pennovation Works: Research and Development panel. Innovators based at Pennovation shared how the campus supports research and development as well as startup growth, via a unique mix of programmatic, community, and facility recourses. They shared success stories as well as information about key programs through during this panel moderated by Laurie Actman, Chief Marketing, Communications and Program Officer at Penn Center for Innovation.

Health Equity Innovation Challenge

As part of a $100 million commitment from J&J to promote health equity over five years, $600,000 will be dispersed between founders of health-driven startups in six cities, including Philadelphia. Applicants should be focused on solving health equity issues among Black and brown people. The founders will also receive access to the the JLABS ecosystem. Apps are due by Nov. 12.
