Penn and Comcast Announce First Winner of Comcast Pennovation Challenge

Challenge invited local groups to build solutions for machineQ, Comcast’s Enterprise IoT service.

The University of Pennsylvania (Penn) and Comcast today announced Viewpoint, a multidisciplinary team of Penn students from the Master of Integrated Product Design program and the School of Design's Historic Preservation department, as the inaugural winner of the Comcast-Pennovation Challenge.

ULI Philadelphia Receives Building Healthy Places Grant to Study Grays Ferry Corridor

ULI Philadelphia, in conjunction with PennPraxis, received a national grant to study the Grays Ferry corridor from Washington Avenue to Woodland Avenue. The Healthy Corridors Phase II Grant was awarded by The Urban Land Institute (ULI)’s Global organization through funds received from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Colorado Health Foundation.  The Leadership team for this project includes the Public Health Management Corporation, Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Sciences and ULI Philadelphia.

The Pennovation Center Leases Inventor Garage to Verge Aero

The University of Pennsylvania’s Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services announced today that Verge Aero Inc. has signed a lease for an Inventor Garage within the Pennovation Center, the University’s business, technology and laboratory incubator.
