A Tape Mural marathon event has been scheduled for August 17 and 18, 11am - 6pm each day. The artist is Jeane Cohen. Over the course of two days, Jean will encourage walk-in participants to create images with painter’s tape on the floor of the Pennovation Plaza (located in front of the Pennovation Center). While Jeane will guide them in the use of the tape and the ways in which their designs could be integrated into the piece as it evolves as a whole, she will allow them to direct the work.

The theme is Innovation and Collaboration.  In Jeane’s words: “Usually I talk with individuals and groups to come up with some larger visual concepts that can be elaborated on within a mural. These concepts help ground the mural and can provide an entry point for participants. For example, if the group comes up with the idea of an 'idea machine,' from the innovation and collaboration prompt, then we would work throughout the day to collaboratively add to this large machine, which could have different individual composite elements, such as a 'brain,' 'factory,' and 'laboratory.' The bulk of the specific visuals are generated by participants and their creative ideas. I provide guidance, creative suggestions, and unification of the mural imagery.”
