1776 Presents: Revolutionary Conversations featuring David Delmar Senties
Revolutionary Conversations is a fireside chat series that gives you an inside look at entrepreneurs who are making an impact in their community and industry. We'll host monthly conversations to hear personal stories, successes and lessons learned from various entrepreneurs.
David Delmar Sentíes is the Founder and Executive Director of Resilient Coders, a highly competitive, free, and stipended nonprofit coding bootcamp that trains people of color for high growth careers as software engineers, and connects them with jobs as such. He's an activist, passionate about building equitable pathways to automation-resilient careers. Resilient Coders is good at this. In 2019, 85% of graduates found full-time jobs as software engineers within 6 weeks of graduation, at an average salary of $98,000. 100% of those were people of color, very few of them with bachelor’s degrees.
Resilient Coders has been recognized by the White House in 2016, featured in TechCrunch, Fast Company News, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, BostInno, Bay State Banner, NPR, NECN, Xconomy, and other news outlets. David is especially proud of having been recognized by El Planeta as an influential member of Boston’s Latinx community. He has an awkward habit of trying to relate everything back to Latin American history, usually speaking a little too loudly.
We are excited to invite you to come and engage in our discussion with David on Thursday, January 28th. To register, please RSVP. We look forward to having David as our first speaker to provide insights into his journey.
