About Carter McClure
Carter McClure is the Director of Economic Inclusion and Impact at Johns Hopkins University. Before this role, Carter served as the 1776 Managing Director for the Pennovation Center, a technology incubator collaborative between The University of Pennsylvania and 1776. He has an M.B.A. from Hampton University and is a certified information systems specialist. Before his work in business incubation, Carter managed financial analysis for companies including Motorola, Caremark Rx, and Citibank of Chicago and as an IT consultant. Carter has over fifteen years of experience in entrepreneurship, small business assistance, and inclusive incubation, including programming, supporting regional innovation, and developing strategic partnerships. Before his work at Pennovation, Carter led the Mason Enterprise Center at George Mason University and the Business Accelerator Program at East Stroudsburg University. In addition, he was instrumental in heading the university-wide strategic task force on social innovation entrepreneurship. Carter’s passion lies at the intersection of innovation, inclusion, and impact.
