Welcome to a new edition of Meet the Innovator! This month we have the opportunity to introduce Megan Spadt, Associate Scientist at InnaMed.

InnaMed has pioneered the InnaMed HomeLab System and operates as a connected hub for your health needs. HomeLab takes the hassle out of blood testing and lets you access precision medical care from the comfort and privacy of your home. InnaMed has experienced rapid growth in less than two years at the Pennovation Center. First occupying a 450 sq. ft. dedicated bio lab, the team has expanded into the co-working desk workspaces. By October 2020, they added an additional 230 sq. ft. of inventor office space to accommodate their specialized 3D printing equipment.

How long have you been working at Innamed?
- I have been working at Innamed for 1 year working in Research, Development, and Feasibility to ready our sensors for production.
What do you find to be most rewarding about your work?
- Being able to use my creativity everyday for working through tools and strategies to help us expand and provide solutions for people to battle their health challenges.
What do you find to be the most challenging about your work?
- When an experiment does not go as planned. You have to rework your entire work process to discover the root cause. That’s just another exciting opportunity to use your creativity and determine how to get to the bottom of things.
Do you have any key mentors or people who have deeply influenced you?
- I love listening to TedTalks so those are my daily mentors. And Oprah!
What’s the best part about working at Pennovation?
- The flexibility. You’re not bound by an office structure and getting to watch the K9 dogs from Penn Vet Working Dog Center
What has been your favorite food truck that has come to Pennovation?
- EL TLALOC!
Where are you originally from?
- Bethlehem, PA! (Our interviewer found out she and Megan are from the same hometown - small world!)
What’s the best part about living in Philadelphia?
- The people. Everyone is so outspoken and says exactly what is on their minds.

- Fun, Eccentric, Not New York (thank god!)
