Aerial Applications Assists in Hurricane Irma Recovery

Pennovation Member, Aerial Applications, provided wide area damage assessment in the wake of Hurricane Irma, flying over 400 square miles to capture aerial imagery.

These images were then rapidly processed into an interactive map with visual recognition algorithms used to tag thousands of damage incidents across the impacted area. This project builds on their previous work from last year following Hurricane Matthew, and their team hopes they will continue to be able to assist recovery efforts in the future.
