Former PRH Exec Brendan Cahill Launches Navigator Books

Former Penguin Random House executive and industry veteran Brendan Cahill has launched Navigator Books, a Philadelphia-based publisher focused on history, biography, memoir, and historical fiction. The company plans to publish three titles this year, beginning in July, with plans to expand to six in 2027.

Cahill emphasized that the company's model centers on cultivating long-term relationships with authors, working with them to develop ideas and establish careers.

"Our goal is to publish books that matter and endure, and to reach a broad readership," Cahill, who serves as CEO and publisher, said in a statement.

Cahill owns and operates Navigator independently, supported by a small in-house team augmented by outside partnerships for cover design, pre-press, marketing, and publicity, and funded in part by a group of startup and industry investors. The company is based at Philadelphia's Pennovation Center.
